Three months after being let go by the Tigers and Fox Sports Detroit, former Tigers broadcaster Mario Impemba took to Twitter in an apologetic statement to his fans.

I noticed that Rod Allen has followed up with his own explanation. In typical fashion, it was much more verbose than Mario's tweet, as if he was trying to upstage his "partner."

100% agreed Bobbert. Mentioned he released his statement because FSD did, unlike Mario. Got one last dig in. Totally unnecessary.

I found it interesting that neither took the time to apologize. Primarily to each other and FSD, but also to the Tigers.
Now that the 90-day cooling off period is over, I'd expect we'll start hearing more about who will take the FSD openings - and if either Mario or Rod will be in the running for a MLB gig in 2019. Wonder if MLB Network would throw a bone to one or the other.

My guess we will never know for sure if one guy shoulders most of the blame for what appears to have been a long time strained relationship, or whether blame is evenly shared.
I no longer directly engage trolls

Fuck both of them. Can't be professional in that environment? You don't deserve the job. Can you imagine Ernie Harwell and Paul Carey in that same situation?
Please look at my signature.

bjmcdevitt, with Ernie and Paul,CLASS was always in session.I know nothing of "Second Deck" Allen (other than his '84 Tigers cameo) or Impemba, but the lads seem not to have exactly been best buds, and their enmity overflowed into an altercation that September afternoon.Let's hope their replacements are excellent journalists, as they would have been in my boyhood and young manhood, but in 2019,I wouldn't count on anything other than two team shills .

I still like the idea of Shep and Cowboy. Every TV broadcast booth needs two handsome lads. This doesn't matter for radio.

Better yet, how about Cowboy and borderboy6536592000? They're like two minds with one thought.

I'm hoping for Don Orsillo. The Red Sox made a giant mistake when they let him go.

It's sad that they both lost their jobs, but getting fired was a just punishment. They both put their grievances with one another over both the fans and the game.
