Towpath to broadcast on 98.7

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Hey Paul! We're still a go. CP is in hand, currently working on the financials to get on air. We've got 3 years to do it, hoping to be on the air sometime in 2025. We're mostly an open book about it, so feel free to message with any questions.

Will the station be Oldies and if not what format? Will it be available on the Stream 419 app? I’m in the Detroit area but occasionally travel through Toledo and sometimes Dayton. So I imagine the new 98.7 coverage area would be a 20 mile radius being 100 watts 100 feet above ground level. Will the signal be omnidirectional? Thanks in advance.

Good question! Right now, the plan is to take what we're doing online with oldies and move it to the air with some minor (more local) tweaks to programming. There will be quite a bit of focus on the smaller communities southwest of Toledo. The signal is small, it might not get much further north than Whitehouse. Really, where we fade out Springfield High School's station will kick in (if you're looking for oldies on the air) - that should give you an idea of our coverage area. 98.7 out of Detroit is likely to keep the signal from reaching Toledo. Signal will be omni out of Grand Rapids. We'll still be available on the Stream 419 app and the Towpath Radio app. The goal isn't to compete with any of the bigger stations (we're too small), we just want to put out some good local radio for the smaller communities and anyone else who wants to listen in, and provide a local service to the rural areas in our coverage area.
