What's Next For 103.3 W77BI?

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Party 103.3's website and FB page were merged into the Wolf's page.

Regional Mexican or Spanish AC would be decent choices for 103.3.

Ultimately, though, it'll probably be used as a translator for a Christian station.

because every rock station in Toledo besides WIOT and WXKR has fallen on its face because the new music in that format has been terrible for 25 years.

"oh those stations play too much Van Halen and Motley Crue" yes, because those are better artists than Greta Van Fleet and Ashes of My Sophomore Homecoming or whoever.
For being on a garbage signal such as 106.5 most of its life, The Zone earned respectable ratings (mostly in the 2.0 to 2.9 share range).

If XKR were on that shitty stick, I doubt their numbers would've been any better than that.

94.5 and 104.7 have the right formats for their respective sticks and should not change much of anything. That said, contemporary rock formats perform very well in other Midwestern rust belt markets. If given a decent signal, such a format could probably grab 3 or 4 shares in Toledo if programmed with some effort.

Ultimately the Zone in all of its incarnations failed and was killed off for an ESPN Radio clearinghouse on not one but two signals. And when it was at its "peak" the playlist was half 90s alternative. They'd play liners saying "support the new music revolution!" into Man In The Box or Evenflow, in 2006.

When they went more in favor of current music that was mostly wussy emo/girly pap or 700 artists that sounded like Nickelback, they literally didn't show up in the ratings.

The ratings did indeed diminish after the brand left 106.5 for good. I do recall a wimpy phase but cannot recall what year(s) that happened.

For a brief spell during the Dickey reign of terror, Cumulus refused to buy the book in diary markets.

It was 2013-14. They were playing "Royals" by Lorde literally like three times an hour along with shit like Gotye, Hozier, Passion Pit and Gnarls Barkley. And it didn't really stop until one of the mercy killings when 1470 was shut down and the terrible syndicated talk shows moved to 100.7 a couple of years later, although for some reason about a month before that they were playing harder music instead.

I don't live in or around Toledo, but in all my time going back to being a lurker almost 20 years ago, I have not once...not ONE time ever heard anything good about this Andrew Z. The guy seems to always be up to no good, something shady, a move shooter. I mean, when does he give it up and quit being such a snake?

At the same time they were playing non-rock artists they'd sometimes would be played next to Rage Against the Machine, Papa Roach, and different grunge acts. The playlist back then is probably similar to Alt 98.7 today. If the Zone still had the same style playlist today, we'd probably be hearing Billie Elish instead of Lorde.

On another note, Hot 97.3 played "Royals" back in that same period, often being played alongside their typical Gangsta Rap tracks and whatever songs DJ Kahled played.

Whomever wanted Polka music, it's on 106.1 LPFM (toledoRadio dot org) on Sundays at 10am.
