New format but everyone else looks to remain the same.

I think it's time to freshen up the "80s, 90s and today" branding. The 80s are 40 years old. Plus, that implies that 2 decades of music are being skipped. Saying that in 2006 was one thing. But it's 2023 now. There has to be a better way to put that together.

So what it amounts to is essentially swapping the AM and FM formats and tweaking them in the process. The new logo strongly resembles that of Mix 92.3 in Detroit!
Some AC stations use "the '80s to now" as their tag line. A lot less cumbersome, if you ask me. Another potential implication of "80s, '90s and now/today" is that "now" encapsulates the last 23 years. Which, given how slow the format currently is to pick up on songs from CHR and how long it holds on to them, may be closer to the truth than we think.

Yes, the 1980s were over 40 years ago, at least the early 1980s. It's the decade that won't die!

80s music belongs on a classic hits station. To me it should be 90s, 00s, 10's, and today.

AC stations are all about reaching women up to their late 40s. A 49-year-old woman now was born in 1973 or '74, and for better or worse, the '80s are part of the "music of her life." By contrast, the '90s and '00s didn't have as many "mass appeal" hits - the '90s were dominated by hip-hop, country and alternative rock, and the '00s were very hip-hop heavy after the teen pop bubble burst. And an AC station isn't about to jar listeners by playing "Friends in Low Places" next to Maroon 5, or "In Da Club" next to an Adele ballad.
The '80s are here to stay on AC as long as they continue to test reliably.
