I'm kinda late here but ... Just what they need! :x

This station has an odd history. They were Country as The Rebel for a long time, then was converted into a public radio station. Now it's classic hits but that's going bye bye here quick. Now, more religious junk ruining a good FM signal.

Careful. Graham Wellington is gonna come around here and copy+paste his response about Pink Floyd and Boston again.

What's sad is the Oasis had developed a pretty loyal following in the Cincy and especially Dayton markets. In the beauty pageant 12+ numbers in Dayton, it was ahead of 92.9, 95.3, 101.5, 103.9 and perhaps others.

Dayton has already lost 94.5 & 106.5 to niche programming in the past few years; now it'll be losing a third signal to such programming.

Dayton is already the worst radio market for a city of its size in the midwest; these forthcoming changes will only serve to further cement that fact.

When 105.9 was classic country (after it was a public radio station), they got up into the top 10 (if not higher) in Cincinnati in 2019/20.

It's dayparted. Cats fucking is 9am to 6pm and babies crying is from 6pm to 9am. Can't miss.

And don't forget the weekend show "old people getting out of bed".

They flipped 106.7 in northern KY from Classic Country (formerly simulcast on 105.9) to The Oasis, but that signal doesn't reach Dayton. It barely even reaches Cincy, which already has WDJO for oldies fans.
I have a friend who lives and works in Xenia and primarily listened to 105.9 at work, and is really bummed it's going away (for the record, he's in his late 30s, so not "out of the sales demos"). 106.7's signal doesn't reach Xenia so streaming will be the only way for him to listen. I have a feeling 106.7 is going to eventually be sold as well and is just the place where The Oasis format is retiring to die.

I agree that WNKR will likely be sold, too.

No Pink Floyd or Boston, I'm currently in the mood for some "Dust in the Wind" followed up by some "Don't fear the Reaper". Maybe throw in a "Get the Led out" segment as well.

This is what's at stake if these damned religious stations keep gobbling up these good FM stations.

I don't count Akron only because it is within easy listening range of nearly all Cleveland FMs.

Toledo definitely gives Dayton a run for its money in the FM dial crappiness realm.

Akron is wretched in terms of Toledo. Toledo radio has always been boring.

I thought Toledo radio was decent in the late 90s.

Ok, I take some of it back. You did have Buzz 106.5 with Howard Stern and of course Denny Schaffer on Kiss-FM making fun of Pastor Pitts, that was pretty good. I liked 94.5's AAA format, but it didn't really catch on with Toledo radio listeners. Classic rock on 97.3 was pretty decent actually.

Even WIOT wasn't horrible then.
