A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Might have more listeners with a loudspeaker.

Granted, there’s next to no chance I’ll pick this up under normal conditions unless I go to Grosse Ile.
Should be able to pick it up online.

Listening online is no more like radio tham intravenous feeding is like fine dining.

Admitting you have a problem is the second step. The first step is finding a problem you really enjoy.

In this link, they show the aeronautical rule restrictions on operation in Canada on 107.9 and other frequencies. To find the rule in this document, do a Find on "107.9". There are also restrictions on other frequencies, and intermodulation situations, where the third order products show up in the aeronautical bands. 107.9 is the most restrictive though.

Good luck to them......with 3 radio markets on their dial Toledo Detroit Windsor they will need it.

Lake Erie might give them signal enhancement at times.Even though low pwr.

The format could target offices of all types. But even they already have piped in music or sat radio.

Also in Canada you dont get a new broadcast license unless your part of the enormous political machine and Im 100 % sure govt funding ala tax payer dollars is involved . It always is.....

If this station is on the signal is very weak. I was on Grosse Ile last week and only found the 1310 repeater.

The station is not yet on the air..... Industry Canada still needs to come and do an inspection and test the signal before it can hit the airwaves.
They should be coming this week hopefully.

It’s probably 1310’s repeater unless Windsor has a pirate I am not aware of. Haven’t been over since October.

I remember when I came out of the tunnel into Windsor and I was able to hear WCRZ there.

It sounds like this new radio station will cover Amherstburg without difficulty but will quickly hit co-channel interference beyond there. The new station will do quite well with the 50+ demographic based on the format they intend to use.

After they make some money, it won't be long before they apply for a power upgrade so that they can move to Class A1 status. That will result in them having a protected contour which they do not currently have.

107.9 Class "A" has been reserved for Windsor for as long I can remember.

But as I recall, previous applicants ran into difficulty with the Aeronautical restrictions, and moved to another channel as I recall.

I remember when we were joking that they could jam all the US cochannel stations as long as the 34 dBu F(50,10) didn't reach US land. That's about the time they applied for all the second adjacent channels. Maybe we shouldn't give them any ideas.

They could be on the air as early as next week. They are known as CKBG 107.9 The Burg. Right now there is just silence from the online stream.

I believe you may be correct. The CBC, I thought, was originally going to put one of its French language networks there. Instead, they decided to use 105.5 and 103.9.

I'm a little surprised the allotment for 107.9 Windsor has not been deleted.
