WAKT-LP heard much better in Greater Toledo

Drove from Perrysburg to the state line, could hear 106.1 the entire way. Much better reception. Previously, you could only hear the station if you were in downtown, and even then the signal was scratchy. Always liked 106.1's programming, a format based on local bands/artists is something very much appreciated here.

This would almost have to be due to "conditions"

LPFM's are 100w from 100ft. That's not going to make it to the state line without a lot of help.

I live there too and I can't get it on my tabletop radio.

Yes, they upgraded from a 30ft tower to a 100ft tower, so the signal is much improved! 8)

Yeah it sounded great around Collingwood ave in Toledo yesterday, near the former Mercy Hospital. Out in Bedford it was scratchy but listenable.

The new WAKT 106.1 tower is up, there a celebration at the studio site on Saturday so coverage should be greatly improved going forward.

WAKT has a great mix of local talent and on a decent radio (CCrane) get 106.1 in stereo at St. Anne's hospital.
