Well, that building isn't that old, except the original section is 59 years old, but the addition isn't all that bad?
Maybe just like the towers, they will sell real estate to a group who will lease it back to them?
Otherwise, they could put a building right between, Towers 1, 2 and 3 on Oregon Road at the WSPD transmitter site!

Don't need the building when no one is local anymore. 10 years ago they had people both there and still at Fort Industry Square.

Many on-air personalities can voicetrack shifts (and perhaps even do live shifts) from their own homes.

It is a financially smart move on the part of iHM to eliminate real estate leases or divest itself of owned real estate, where possible. I'm surprised it took them this long to begin making such moves.

and as even Toledo's downtown farts its way toward gentrification in more than a couple of blocks on adams street, for example there's now a hipster bar/art gallery off of 10th and Monroe where you can see the old Greyhound station being gutted, someone might think that land is worthwhile.

With IHeart firing half of their local staff last year, they probably don't need that big of a building anymore.

EVERY iheart building across their chain in markets outside of the top-10 are for sale. The continuing dismantling of the radio industry by investors and the stock market is almost complete.

iHeart is moving the clusters in both Cleveland and Akron to those cities' downtown areas. Cleveland is currently in suburban Independence and Akron is south of the city in northern Stark County.

iHeart Findlay/Lima possibly to merge with Toledo? BTW, the site of the studios was once in the 'red light district' 100 years ago according to an on-air staff member (if they we're fired yet).

Findlay's station (103.7) Went to Toledo years ago. Lima could be merged with Toledo or Dayton. The Market manager of Lima also handles Toledo and Dayton along with all of Ohio outside of the C's.

I worked in that building back in 1996/1997. Believe they had just expanded it around that time. Is the Spaghetti Warehouse still across the street? Too bad they are vacating that building.

This seems rather foolish to me. In other markets, IHM is clamoring to get downtown. In Toledo, they are downtown, but want out. Where will they go? To a crummy, half empty strip mall in Maumee or Perrysburg?

The WSPD building dates all the way back to the Storer stations group. It was only 1 story back then.

IHM should appoint someone with the title, "VP in charge of non-traditional revenue" and find ways to cash flow valuable real estate, instead of just cashing out. Obviously, each property, and situation, has a unique set of circumstances.

Maybe someday, a new radio format will be created, where studios will be used, again. For example, an audience participation show that's gives away prizes, etc. Perhaps, have big-name guests, or interesting guests. Maybe, creativity will return to the airwaves, or maybe not.
