Never was. They need to identify their own calls several times a day. Last I listened to 100.7, they were WXKR HD 2. Since it became the zone again, I totally lost interest in it. It should currently be WQQO HD2 Sylvania/Toledo. Never cared for the zone, in general. That station is exactly why I hate the song "Radioactove."
It is WQQO HD2, Sylvania/Toledo.
I remember when Radioactive was played on the Zone so much around 2012-2013.
Every 35-45 minutes! Dan McClintock shoulda been less of a wuss and stood up to the queer dude that was VP of rock. Forget his name, the VP of Rock, but had dark hair, skinny, and looked super gay.
They were playing "Royals" by Lorde even more then. Lorde's not even rock! They literally stopped showing up in the ratings because of all the wussy, girly music they were playing. "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley would also pop up from time to time.
The Zone brand still hasn't recovered.
I think they played Gotye's "Somebody that I used to Know" as well.
Hip-Hop station Hot 97.3 played Lorde for a short while as well. She's not Hip-hop either.
The playlist was a trainwreck at the time, going from pop to heavy metal at times.

Yeah, they did play fucking Gotye too. Ugh. and they would follow it with STP or Soundgarden. It was almost a mercy killing when they put the talk format on 100.7 except shit like the last gasp of Don Imus was even worse.

I remember all that, the last month and a half of The Zone 3.0, they switched to being satellite fed. Those station ID's were awful! I wasn't too sad when they flipped to talk.

So are we on the Zone 4.0 now? Might that possibly end up as WQQO-HD3 when Sports 106.5 moves to WQQO-HD2 and 100.7fm? FWIW, tried listening to the Q Morning Show today- it was not good.

Well, I know I forewarned everybody that the Butt Show was not a winner. On that same level as the previous morning show/ current afternoon show. The spike is probably the "curiosity" ratings. the ratings will go back down.

If done by satellite, one can make decent identifiers, even jingles fit it the automation. Someone needs to tell KISS Toledo this, for their TOH, with 18 seconds of dead air after the jingle out Q: "Tol-e-e-do." Why do you think the "echo" of K-Hate is there on 96.9. They ALWAYS tell you what your windows are and what closures to use.
Not to defend Cumulus, but the production and jingle companies they own and use are terrible. It is reflected within the current product. Most of the Zone's ID stuff is prefab. Pure laziness.

Going from world pop to 90's grunge is a total trainwreck.
Don Imus came to Toledo's airwaves 10 years too late after controversy and obviously way past his prime.

There off the air half the time anymore. It could be a matter of time until CSN just hands the license in, but they would likely keep 99.5fm.
Is there a translator on 99.5 in Toledo?
That's awfully close to a Class B in Detroit!

Yes. But you can only get it in Metro Toledo. It's not very strong.

On certain radios, it's either CSN or WYCD, depending on where the antenna is positioned.

I had an acquaintance in Sylvania who listens to 99.5 for the CSN content but bitches because the PAD data from WYCD somehow manages to get thru to his RDS/HD tuner so the program data shows for the Detroit station, while the audio is local? Go figure how that works?

I'm thinking the radio picks up WYCD strong enough that their PAD is able to pop up.

Might also remember that the lake does strange things with signals, which can include tunneling.
Another thought- Sylvania is not as close to the TX and might pick up WYCD's info better, as it is closer to the Detroit signal. I'm thinking the CSN signals rather narrow in Sylvania for CSN, than for WYCD. A better antenna or rooftop FM antenna may be a solution to look into.
