Cumulus changes

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Bill Stewart keeps the bodies listening to 93.5 after evening drive time and costs them next to nothing to voicetrack his show; so why not employ him? Yeah, that 5 hours a week will bankrupt the station?
They are trying to get rid of part-timers on most of the stations. Why pay $16 a day, when you can have a salary talent do it. They get paid the same anyhow, no matter what duties they have. And with WW1, all they have to do is online affs, with no cost. And it's not 5 hrs a week. He only gets paid minimum wage for 2 hrs, every few days. He must have his files and calls In place for a few days. Then when the logs get loaded in, for that day, everything is done and there, in the exact locations. And with everyone on RQN voicetracking, everyone has to use that studio, since most do not know how to switch nodes.

Folks, the old days of radio are dead. And with the youngins wanting jockless music and pre-recorded all talk (via podcasts), nobody even including them in any radio formats, and being able to control and customize content, and possibility of clutter-free or stopset-free entertainment, I plainly see radio not ever being the same... no matter who pays for whatever studies.
Because of all part-timers not working, some personalities are now working 7 days a week. They all deserve to have the weekends off.

I also have noticed 98.3 NashIcon's changed a bit this past month. It seems like they're using out-of-town jocks with the exception of Jeff Tuttle in the morning.
The "jocks" chose to sign contracts, so they know that 120 hrs a week can be expected of them legally. They chose to voicetrack weekends and even overnights. If they need time off, buy out the contract (if possible) or wait til the contract ends. Only 1 person legally and successfully got out of their contract with Cumulus Toledo. I'm not gonna shed a tear for someone's bad decisions and future planning. As for the out of towners- Timmy and Becky have done that for a while now. Remember Kiss, 106.7 Detwat, Channel 999, 92.3 WCOL and a few others have done it with Randi West. It's just another resource called "cyberjocking."
