Well known veteran Chicago broadcaster and newsman, Bob Sirott, is the new morning man at 720 WGN in Chicago.
Mr. Sirott, 70 years of age, is replacing Steve Cochran, who interestingly enough, is coming off an unusually strong ratings book (he placed 3rd overall in ages 6+in the most recent four week ratings survey).

Stupid. Cochran was doing well and Sirott is a has-been. Just when SOME of the damage Pig Virus did 10+ years ago was finally undone upper management egos are sinking WGN again.

Cochran for the most part seemed well liked by 720's audience. I, too, view this move as a head scratcher.
BTW, you are confusing Pig Virus with Randy Michaels, I believe.
Pig Virus programmed WJR (and did OK in that role); I don't believe he had a tour of duty at WGN.

Nope, the late Mr. Metheny did have a (disastrous) tour of duty at WGN.

For some reason - I had no recollection of Pig Virus ever working at 'GN. I stand corrected and extend my thanks for the info!
I do recall Lee Abrams and Randy Michaels being at 'GN during that disastrous stretch.
