EMF expanding in Green Bay

EMF, the owners of K-Love and Air 1, are buying 104.9 WPCK from a Cumulus divestiture trust. I am thinking Air 1 will end up on 104.9 since K-Love is already heard on 90.5 from Sturgeon Bay, which has a very good signal in Green Bay

That sale (along with a rimshot outside of Albany GA) also means that WTOD 106.5 is the only station left in Cumulus’ post-bankruptcy divestiture trust.

That Albany, GA station looks like even more of a rimshot than 106.5. Since that went for only $90,000 it wouldn’t surprise me if WTOD is only worth $200K, $300K at the most.

Still thinking its gonna be KLove.

Also, if you notice that Sturgeon Bay is only 10-12 miles Northeast of the 104.9 tower. So the 2 signals are 15 miles apart. WPFF goes into Escanaba marginally, both signals currently reach the Fox River Valley.

The Albany GA station's 60dBu doesn't even cover much of the city of Albany! At least WTOD's 60dBu includes about half of Toledo

When I saw this post, I immediately knew what it was. In Missouri(can't remember where) KJMO Calls moved to a different place on the dial and The other station just shut down.

So, Cumulus it seems is ready to unload some of these smaller stations. Sounds like the GA station would maybe be good for a simulcast, that's about it.

My own theory, at this point is, 106.5fm WTOD will likely go to a religious broadcaster. EMF in theory, could put Air 1 on there. I've also considered the fact, CSN shuts down 1560am and Moves it's programming to 106.5. We shall see.

Not so sure about 106.5. I am thinking that "The Beat" (94.9 and WVKS 92.5 HD2) may be going too low in ratings to keep. I also have noticed allot of iHeart's HD+ radio tuners getting Air1 on them, behind the normal HD1. Just a thought for now, but don't put it out to pasture.

94.9 seems to be kinda popular actually.

I do think 106.5, will end up going to a religious organization of some sort. Just a guess.

Methinks that Cumulus’ creditors post-bankruptcy are inducing the sales. Why it’s taken so long to sell speaks more to the quality of the frequency and available buyers.

Cumulus comes off to me, as major procrastinators. However, yeah the creditors are probably on them to unload them. I don't know much about 104.9fm in Green bay, but 106.5fm Toledo isn't a great signal and 102.1fm in Albany GA is spotty at best.

I re-read the post above, totally glossed over that WNUQ was sold as well.. Sounds like a small time owner, Obviously will be some sort of commercial format.

so, 106.5 is the last man standing. Now we wait for the last shoe to drop.

94.9 The Beat does incredibly well ratings wise for an FM translator. They are staying put!!!

88.9 WTPG, which certainly has a better metrowide signal than WTOD-FM but almost assuredly minuscule listenership, just sold for $500,000.

I agree that highest & best use for WTOD-FM is probably as a non-commercial station. Moving it closer to Toledo would require (i) approval of a major change application by the FCC, (ii) a frequency change to 106.3 MHz, and (iii) ability to relocate WBUK-FM to a different frequency (which may or may not be feasible). There are too many variables and risks in play to make such an undertaking worthwhile.

My guess would be WTOD-FM's stick value is somewhere between $350,000 and $500,000.

Right and yeah... none of that's gonna happen. Not worth the time or energy. Bott Broadcasting comes to mind as a possible candidate.

WTPG thread. https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... =9&t=48629

WPCK has flipped to Christmas music (and will likely flip to one of EMF's networks after the holidays): https://radioinsight.com/headlines/1814 ... -emf-sale/
