WTOL may be removing MeTV

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Just got home from work in time last night to watch the transition to 13.4 MeTV.For a time MeTV 11.2 and 13.4 were both showing MeTV Perry Mason.

Classy station WTVG as they had up a test pattern of MeTV coming to 13.4 good of them to announce what was transitioning for theyre viewers.

Great of WTVG to pick up MeTV immediately as viewers in T town wouldn't miss theyre fav shows.Hoping WTVG adds a movie channel like Movies! to the test screen which is far superior to the others imo. Also glad they kept WeatherNation as I watch it quite frequently.

Still a dumb move by WTOL, does anyone know why they dumped it???

I love it. It's 8:30 Tuesday morning and still no Justice on 11.2. Nothing but a black screen. Still no station identification on 13.4 (ME) and they're just running the national feed with no local ads. Does anyone think that 13.3 might end up being My Network TV?
I'm doubting it. They already carry ABC and CW. But if that is the case, MyNet would at least be widescreen, like on Fox47's My47.4. I don't recommend them trying to go HD, due to the amount of bandwidth.

Speaking of bandwidth, I noticed WADL having 7 sub channels the other day. 6 video, 1 audio. Could 13abc and Cumulus team up for Talk Radio 100.7 to be on 13.7? Maybe not reality, but just a thought, since you cannot get it outside of Toledo proper, and it's not streamed for Alexa or Google home. Cannot find a stream on the site either.

Tegna bought allot of stations. Shocked that "Houston 11" KHOU was purchased by them. A few weeks ago, saw the same logo as WTOL, except the 11 was slightly different. Same news graphics too.

https://www.tegna.com/brands/

The logos are not up to date on that page.

The reason I'm thinking that 13.3 might end up being My Network TV is because it looks like 48.1 is now AMGTV 24/7. AMG looks like a low-budget lifestyles network. Among the shows are old episodes of Pawn Stars and Cheaters.

Tegna already owns WKYC in the Cleveland market. Nexstar was the company that bought WJW.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

WTVG 13.4's picture and audio quality are superb! I'll be watching this instead of WDIV DT3.

On the MyNetworkTV website, it still shows Toledo....WMNT 58 as the affiliate. Would think that would removed or updated. Also, remember MyNet never shows up in the Neilsons. Not so sure anyone is too interested in a network that has no original programs, nor shows any households watching it.

This plain dumb by WTOL as MeTV is the #1 diginet in America.

I hope folks in T Town go on WTOL's facebook and bitch up storm about this.

Lets hope WTVG adds it to a 13.5 or replaces ION.

Justice is crap.I think WTOL has just opened a hornets nest with this bad decision.
Yes, but in running Justice instead of ME TV, they are airing THEIR network (Tegna properties).

As Stephen Colbert might say...MEANWHILE, WTVG 13 is now hosting MeTV on channel 13.4, with color bars on 13.3, ION on 13.5, and Weather Nation on 13.6.

Hope their sports events on 13.1 don't get too pixellated.

I see where 11.4 is now Quest. Also I see where closed-captioning on both ME & ION no longer works.

Just within the past week, WFLA here in Tampa has removed Me TV and replaced it with Court TV.

They must have a way of balancing the bits available between feeds; looks like both WTVG-1 and CW-2 are still 720p, and amazingly 13.4 is 480i and looks pretty damn good, but you can see that they stole 'data' from the WX-6 feed as movement is not smooth, but usable. I'm afraid that the test pattern will be a new station that will eat up too much data then MeTV will not be as crisp as it is now. Maybe they are waiting for the 3rd generation HDTV to happen and all these multiplexed signals will still look good. WGTE does a great job of tv data management to have a full 1080 on the main and two 480 streams....
