Regarding radio noise, you need to get the antenna outside of your house using something like this:
The outdoor element also has a ground connection on it, so you can connect that to a 3 or 4 foot copper wire put into the ground or better yet, a 4-foot copper grounding rod. I can't find the article now, but I remember reading years back a design for a multiple-rod grounding system whereby you would put 3 of these rods in a triangle shape into the ground, connect them together, and connect that entire rig to your ground connection. It was supposed to substantially reduce rf noise.

CKWW 580 Adding More 80’s
Re: CKWW 580 Adding More 80’s
Question, Has the music on FM become so repetitive that people are going to AM for different programming? Now this my not mean much but My Wife is tuned in to 580 more now then she has been in the past, She’s 48 and used to listen to 93.9, 104.3, 106.7 and 94.7 now her biggest bitch was I just heard that song, This was on all the stations she has listened to in the past, Now is this due to the fact of repetition on FM or has she reached a point to appreciate the Oldies more because she’s getting older any answers on this.

I'm 34. Repetition and narrow playlists composed of the exact same songs across FM stations are reasons I mostly abandoned FM. I regularly listen to CKWW, CHOK, CFZM, WCXI (and HDFM) for music.
Re: CKWW 580 Adding More 80’s
I listen to CKWW, but I have to tune out when the really obscure CanCon tracks last for more than six minutes or so. There are plenty of CKLW border crossovers to play. Just look at ARSA and see which stations have the border crossover tracks high on the charts in the USA. If they only were hits at CHUM, etc , you shouldn't have to play them. Look at CKLW, and look at the US stations across the border. Just because John Landecker worked at CFTR doesn't make them WLS. And just because Pat Bergin worked at CHUM doesn't make them CKLW. Plenty of CHUM and CFTR hits were not popular in Windsor or Detroit.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

The eighties was when music-especially rock-began its descent towards the crap which pollutes the airwaves today.Five-eighty plays some forgotten 60's and 70's classics .

The last rock song to ever hit number 1 on the Hot 100 was from 2001 and it was Nickelback. Ughh
Music is my life.
