Is the Party already over?

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

The Cromwell Group is suing Fusion Media over the use of the "Party" slogan...

Aaannd, the 106.5 WTOD-HD2 is silent at the moment, while 103.3 is still on. Yes, I'm aware that you can feed the translator directly, but the originating station is still required to be considered "on-air."

Interesting! So, I had this happen with one of my internet stations. I run Towpath Radio, River Rat Country, and Sweet 419 internet stations out of GR, Ohio. When I launched Sweet 419 it was originally called Throwback 419, but I ended up w/ a C&D from the guy who runs Throwback Nation. Lesson learned, but that was about to be expensive. I talked to an attorney who flat out told me it was going to be cheaper to just change the name since trademark attorney's are few and far between. If he's running things as tight as I have to this could really hurt. Also, I'd imagine if they've filed the lawsuit then a C&D may have gone ignored or disputed? Either way, major pain in the ass.

I do wonder how much money was sunk into this party thing, it's also curious to me why they didn't bother check to see if the name was intellectual property of someone's.

Also, why it took a year to get the station on the air. I think they sold(in the process) 1520 because they lost a lot of money on this deal and they need to re-coop some of it.

As for 103.3, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Fusion selling 103.3 and exiting the market.

because the guy in charge is a fat idiot who probably gummed up his keyboard with queso while trying to do a LexisNexis search

In any event this operation seems to be put together in a bit of a sloppy manner. I'm not in the radio biz but just looking at it from a business perspective.

As I write this, it's Monday at 4:25. 106.5 HD2 has been silent since 4:30am Saturday, yet 103.3 is still on. Anyone got the number for the FCC?

The phone number you need to call and report the grubby finger nails station is 1-888-225-5322.

So after 2 1/2 days of silence, 106.5 HD2 has audio again. Amazing how much they are paying attention to detail...

Aaaand it's gone silent again. Where I'm at, I can't pick up 103.3, but I do get 106.5 HD2. You'd think they'd want as much coverage as they could get.

And two minutes after I posted, it came back on. Is someone monitoring this board as a silence sensor?

The station sounds choppy to me, this hasn't been the only time The HD has been off.

Oh, it's off more than it's on. In fact, it's silent again now...
