Re: 105.1 in Door County flips
Back in the early 1950s, Door County couldn't support even two radio stations. The owners of WOKY 920 Milwaukee started WOKW 1050 Sturgeon Bay, a 250 watt Daytimer. Just after they signed on, WDOR 910 signed on as a 500 watt Daytimer. When WDOR signed on with Program Test Authority, the owners of WOKW complained that WDOR was interfering with WOKW, and when the FCC dismissed that complaint, they said there was too much overlap with WOKY. The FCC eventually dismissed that complaint. WOKW went off the air and never returned. Eventually and apparently they reached an agreement for WDOR to upgrade to 1000 watts Daytime only and WOKY to 5000 watts Daytime. But they couldn't increase overlap that much and sent their signal ENE, as it remains today, and is strong Days in Western Michigan near the Lake.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Re: 105.1 in Door County flips
Looking at that sample playlist reminds me of what the "Eagle" stations aired during their "we play everything" days. Add a little non-crossover country in there (one segue I remember from Gaylord's 101.5 is Heart "What About Love" into George Strait "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls") and it'd be exactly the same. WDOR has a pretty varied playlist itself.
How many changes does this make now since 105.1 signed on?
