Brief observations

While driving from Grand Rapids to my parents' house today, I noticed a few things:

- Several of the big Northern Michigan signals were listenable along parts of I-96 and US-31, such as 88.5 WIAB, 89.3 WTLI, 96.3 WLXT, 105.1 WGFM, 105.9 WKHQ, and 106.7 WSRT, as well as a handful of Flint/Tri-Cities signals (89.1 WLKB, 93.3 WKQZ, 95.1 WFBE, 98.1 WKCQ, 99.7 WUGN)

- 94.9 WKZC is nowhere near full power. There was no sign of it in Rothbury. 94.9 in Rothbury was mostly WMMQ with likely WOLX or the WGHN translator in Grand Haven underneath. Conversely, 99.9 WHCH, which is only 3kW, was mixing with Live 99.9 from Benton Harbor at the same point and 2.65kW 102.7 WMOM was listenable in the White Lake area. I also saw that 97.7 WMLQ/98.7 WLDN are airing U of M football this season, which had been on 94.9 for as long as I can remember. WLDN is listed as an affiliate of BOTH UM and MSU football this year, but both schools' websites have other errors in their radio network listings this year.

Some more today while driving from Manistee to Grand Rapids via Traverse City:

- 92.5 WFDX is on and running full power with yacht rock-type songs

- A solid number of UP, Wisconsin, and Sunrise Side stations were heard in TC
-- UP: 92.3 WJPD, 92.7 WRPP, 93.1 WIMK, 93.9 WNBY, 94.9 WUPZ, 97.9 WIHC, 98.3 WCMZ, 101.9 WKQS, 103.3 WFXD, 104.3 CJQM, 104.7 WYKX, 106.3 WGMV, 107.3 WUPF
-- Wisconsin: 88.5 WPVM, 99.7 WDKF, 101.1 WIXX, 101.9 WDEZ, 102.1 WRKU, 106.5 WYTE, 106.9 WLGE, 107.9 WBCV
-- Sunrise Side: 94.9 WKJZ, 95.7 WCMB, 99.3 WATZ, 99.9 WHAK, 104.7 WKJC

- No peep of WKZC along US-131! 94.9 was a mix of WKJZ and WMMQ around the Cadillac and Reed City areas, while other Ludington/Manistee area stations 94.1 WWKR, 97.7 WMLQ, 98.7 WLDN, 99.9 WHCH, and 102.7 WMOM were heard
