No not z93. In Manistee we don’t have much to listen to And Ludington radio station signal reception suck here. Hopefully not a format flip coming.

Doesn't WIXX come in pretty well in Manistee?

Probably gonna stay CHR but with a new name and major air staff changes. Long overdue.

I have the RadioLand app (which shows signal strength using Longley-Rice models) and of the CHR/Hot AC signals, it shows the following signal strengths:
92.9 WJZQ - 54 dBu
96.3 WKLA - 59 dBu
101.1 WIXX - 51 dBu
102.7 WMOM - 55 dBu

In my experience, WJZQ seems to overperform slightly, while WKLA underperforms by a significant margin (being short-spaced to WSFQ and WLXT doesn't help matters at all). Speaking of WIXX, they are usually there, but WAPL and the higher-power Sturgeon Bay signals (WDKF, WDOR, WPFF, WPVM) are stronger

Oddly it seems WIXX signal is weaker than it used to be. I used to be able to receive it better 20 miles inland but in manistee it’s hard to get without My FM yagi antenna these days. Wapl comes in better but does occasionally splatter on the car radio.

As for the signal of the Pop Top40/hot ac stations

It’s a battle between 102.7 and 92.9 unless Wisconsins booming in then 92.9 is better. 96.3 is a tad harder to get. Maybe it’s due to the terrain here. Another station that is very weak but can be pulled in is 102.3 wybr. with the yagi I can pull in wsnx 104.5, wkhq 105.9, and wcdy 107.9 most of the time.

I could be wrong but I think Broadway took over programming. If that's true, 100% guaranteed they're rebranding, reimaging, and taking more than a half assed shot at KHQ. I've said it since I did mornings at KHQ (about 10 years ago), all 92.9 needed was some focused direction and we might be in trouble. That VO in the promo is the same voice we used as a shadow at 95.7 in GR back when it was still Channel (Staci??), they use her at Kiss Toledo. I love her sound. This will be fun to hear! Listening to 92.9 right now I can tell you the music sounds way more focused that what I remember, the current imaging package does NOT match. I wish KHQ would remove the geo block from the stream so I can listen out of state. I love a good CHR battle.

Does WMOM use that same female V/O artist?

Theirs and the one featured in the tease video sound very similar.

Close but not the same. It is Corri English who sounds similar. I guess it's kind of flattery they would want to try to come close to the same voice.

Their ratings have tanked 2.3 to 1.9 to 1.2 maybe it's time for a rebranding, but I do not see them cutting into KHQ, especially since that is Trish' baby and if she feels threaten probably will step up their efforts more.

Most of what Trish's stations do is just lazy broadcasting, because they have not felt much threat, but I think a little change up, up there is not a bad thing.

I think it will be similar thought to two markets, Grand Rapids with WSNX and HOT FM. HOT FM will never come to the caliber of WSNX and in Ludington where WKLA won't get close to the listener loyalty WMOM has. I think that's the same idea in TC, the heritage that KHQ has just will be tough to make a dent in.

Oh wow, you're right, that is Corrie. She sounds so close to Stacie Bartro but it's obvious playing them next to each other. Good call!

New hint on Facebook today. It says " We are shifting our focus. Happens at 9:29 on the 1st. Also an add on All Access looking for afternoons. 9:29 a reference to 92.9 I would assume.

If they keep that far-too-old for the demo morning show and remain CHR, the changes will be a waste of time.

The post says to listen to that show on February 1st, so I assume they are keeping it.

Looks like they already changed out afternoon drive talent too? Scrubbed from the website. Broadway has mostly been an afternoon or evening jock and is listed there so the scrubbing of the site must have happened recently.

Speaking of AJ, didn’t he used to be the morning show host on WMOM during its CHR days. Wonder if he would ever end up going back to WMOM since they currently don’t have anyone for the afternoon drive.

Although we can't speak about employment, that would not be something the station would entertain.

A live afternoon talent will be on the station late winter/early spring.
