Is Sinclair going to fix the problem? Or just let it rot?

29&8 is currently airing TBD network in its place On cable and OTA
Do you mean TND (The National Desk)?

That & some disjointed failarmy on TBD is what was showing in place of local 'news' segments last week...

That's where tbd is appropriate.

Actually was TBD when I was watching. Right now noon hour. Both 7&4 and 29&8 are both airing TBD network.

Over in Green Bay. CW14 is airing like normal and has there usual graphics but 7&4 is not airing there’s.

Either due to being a larger market (replacement faster?) or didn't get hit as hard as 7&4

TBD, TND, infomercials, and 'Seniors CAN save money on their car insurance'... ad nauseum.

If going by the program guide on Spectrum alone, things are still far from 'normal' @ Budgetelevision, 3 weeks in.

At least it gives the parent company an opp to expose their crappy private-label beans to an unwitting audience. Who would have thought there was such a demand for curated amateur internet content?

As I mentioned on the Flint / Saginaw board, it seems that Sinclair is giving its top rated, high market stations priority for restoration, while leaving lower rated stations in smaller markets to fend for themselves. As I heard, 25 and 66 in Mid-Michigan are still having problems as we speak.

This is proof that 9&10 has been the market leader Up North even before the attack. Also, could Local 32 be ahead of 7&4 in the local ratings?

I think 32 is simply part of 9&10 with regard to news ratings. Part of 7&4's issues stem from the number of ownership changes (not to mentions said owners did/didn't do). Raycom was possibly the best 7&4 has had. A LOT of money was put into the station. Sadly Barrington ran it into the ground. I think Barrington *could* have continued to increase the product, had it cared enough.

And now Sinclair had to go and f* it up more than it was. This hack certainly didn't help. It should have fixed the problem by now and had it back up 100%. But again, another company that doesn't really care.

Sure. "9&10 News on Local 32"

Promotion. Marketing. 32 exists to boost 9&10 ratings.

I think the Caddy Kids do better because of production values as well: sound and lighting. Hats off to 'em!

As far as 7&4's (+ 29&8's) issues related to the ransomware attack go, after 30 days or so, it appears _most_ of them have been mitigated now.

Most of what? The malware?

And Yes, Mario Iacobelli commands a very high product. If I recall from an interview I saw years ago, he said "there is no reason we can't have a product as good as Detroit stations." 9&10 had been leader before he came on board, but he pushed it even further. That said, Raycom was bringing 7&4 up, and doing fairly well climbing in ratings when it sold to Barrington.

Well Maria Diss is working in Texas.. so good for her....

However, 29and8 dropped their 630pm newscast without even a notice. Why? That show was great when it was Erika Erickson running it and she was doing stuff outside of normal news..

9and10 continues to look very professional (outside of Bill Froelich)..... however 7&4 has dropped the ball since Payton and Taylor left.... Miya is great on Sunday's but the rest...... seems a little unpolished.

The last few evenings I've watched, Joe and Marc look and sound burnt out. Not an excuse by any means, just an observation and possible explanation for their behavior on camera.

Their job is to fill time, s-t-r-e-t-c-h out those forecasts from what could be comm'd in 15 secs to > 3 mins.

That, & attempting to train the newest member of their team to be watchable must be exhausting.

As in the old days? When they'd cram a ton of news into one hour? As I recall the weather segments in the 5pm (under Raycom) were split up into a few two minute segments.

Yes, I can see where that may be exhausting in the beginning. Who is the third meteorologist now since Blake and Taylor left? Or did they bring on of the reporters to be a forecaster?
