Just saw this. Legend of Northern Michigan Radio. 20 Years at KHQ and defined an era of radio in the North. Get the heck out of bed! The weather with Storm Kennedy... Toured the downtown Charlevoix studios when I was in 5th grade. Still remember it. His KIA and Casino Commercials will live on!

R.I.P. indeed.

Heard a car dealership commercial he voiced on WRIF earlier today, in fact.

Few voices, if any, in the history of northern MI radio are more recognizable than his.

So sad. Did so many car dealer ads. His Voices.com profile mentioned he was in remission a few years ago for lymphoma.

He was a true professional.

Had the pleasure of working with him on several occasions. Indeed, a true pro.

Is there an Obituary link yet? I couldn't find anything that matched.

Since he went by the name Chuck Vogel early in his career, I looked it up under both Charles and William. I assume that Vogel (German for Bird) is his given surname.

Sad to hear this.

Nothing on 9&10, UpNorthLive or the Record-Eagle yet. Then again, the media jumped the shark on Michael O'Shea's passing, too.

Used to call in to answer the morning quiz on the way to school. Those were fun times. Back when KHQ was a good station to listen to.

Mr. Vogel is a great example of just how darn good the air talent in Northern MI radio has been through the years!

I'd say he stood out as the very best among that talented pool of individuals.

No question he could've worked in a top 25 market for many years had he sought to do so.

He was also the announcer for MadTV in their later years.

Is the obituary correct, or have I been assuming incorrect info on Bill for many years?
I thought Haley Vogel of TV weather fame was his daughter.
I also thought an ad director at WFMK where I worked for a short time in the late '80s was his ex-wife. I can't remember her first name, but I am sure she still used Vogel as her last name.
