Yes. Heard CMU's new legal ID yesterday on 94.3

It's just changed within the last 24 hours. It's updated on CDBS, but not on fccinfo.org as of this post. fccinfo.org does update several times a day sometimes, trying to keep up with the strange way the FCC has implemented database changes. Canadian and Mexican data is still missing. I don't know why the FCC keeps fixing things that aren't broken, and not fixing things that are.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

CMV=CUCUMBER MOSAIC VIRUS

Post by Ben Zonia » Tue May 05, 2020 4:55 pm

CMV is the acronym for the CUCUMBER MOSAIC VIRUS. Why would you want to be known by call letters associated with a virus?

Of course, WFCX sounded like the FCC shouldn't have granted it in the first place. WSTD wasn't much better.

95.7 Oscoda was originally WCMV if memory serves. I guess that explains why they changed it to WCMB. :razz

It would have been funny if WSTD was changed to WCMV :lol

WCMV-FM covers quite a bit of the area covered by WCMV-TV

Does anybody know the status of the 100.5 Boyne City translator of The Fox FM? Has it turned off completely with the absence of its parent station or has it been broadcasting other content or being sold?

The translator was attached to the 92.5 frequency, which is silent. The translator goes as goes the main frequency goes. You want that power bill and tower rental bill, I'm sure it can be bought. :razz

Wouldn't surprise me if someone plucks off the translator, leaving 92.5 to rot by itself.

Translators can be repurposed.

Nattering Nabobs Of Negativism.

There's a way to make this all work. When there's a will there's a way. You have to have a vision. Many such journeys are possible.

I've been looking at this all Spring and Summer, being cooped up and such. Some Nights, staring at tower lights. Not just 92.5 either.

Not sure who could use the 100.5 translator. There are three realistic possibilities:
1. It remains paired with 92.5 and both are sold (or LMA'd) to new ownership
2. It is sold to a potential new owner of 750 AM in Petoskey (if that license wasn't allowed to expire)
3. It becomes a rebroadcaster of a religious station.

If Midwestern weren't at the cap for FM, they could buy 92.5 and the 100.5 translator, move KLT to those two signals, and flip 93.5 and 96.7 back to country

Wasn't this an alternative station in the 90s/early 2000s? Sorry, my memory is fuzzy. Haven't been in that area in 8 years.

You're thinking about The Zone, which was at 95.5 where Rock 105 & 95.5 is now.

The Fox's Petoskey translator did operate on 95.5 before it moved to 100.5. I remember hearing classic hits on 95.5 in Petoskey and at first thinking that then-WJZJ had flipped formats.
