106.7 is no more
106.7 is no more
Although it’s been mentioned in a few other threads, it is worth noting that the transmitter for 106.7 is off as of December 12 2019. A sad end to a formerly significant station.
Re: 106.7 is no more
It will be sold soon.

When I was growing up in the 90s/early 2000s, it was always a "which is better, KHQ or The Peak??"

Warm 107.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Will this soon go non-com, with 24/7 Catholicism and non stop Hail Marys?

- Liner from the mid- or late '90s.
Peak was the edgier and more fun station (at least until they went Hot AC), but KHQ obviously did something right to have survived as long as they have (they'll be 40 in a few months - as will I). Both stations were a breath of fresh air to hear on trips up north, since I lived in the heart of the Detroit area which had no mass-appeal CHR at that time.

Re: 106.7 is no more
Remember during the morning rush, KHQ was THE station to listen to. Always had a daily quiz that usually anyone over the age of 10 knew the answer to, and many students would call in. If I recall the tag line was "Wake up with "The Captain" on KHQ"... speaking of, whatever happened to Bill Vogel?ChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 6:59 pm"If you stop at 106, you haven't reached THE PEAK. He does tons of voiceovers for auto dealer radio spots all over the country.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: 106.7 is no more
Don't see anything filed for an STA to turn off the WSRT transmitter yet. What am I missing? Some FCC website wrote:an STA application must be filed 10 days prior to the date of the operation proposed in the application.

No, Relevant Radio couldn't afford to run WMKD @ 100kw a decade ago.Radio Sucks wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:50 amWill this soon go non-com, with 24/7 Catholicism and non stop Hail Marys?
Re: 106.7 is no more
Relevant Radio merged with California-based Immaculate Heart Radio a couple of years ago, which gives the combined networks a large donor base, and just bought several AMs from Salem.A1B1C1D1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 3:34 pmNo, Relevant Radio couldn't afford to run WMKD @ 100kw a decade ago.Radio Sucks wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:50 amWill this soon go non-com, with 24/7 Catholicism and non stop Hail Marys?
Speaking of WMKD (and WYSS), are they going to officially downgrade to Class A, since they've been running STA facilities for a few years now?
Re: 106.7 is no more
Ok... I don't post on this side of the board often, so what did I miss? so both 105.5 and 106.7fm are off the air now?
