Leaving out the “where…”

Post by sinklair » Wed Jan 03, 2024 12:01 am

Every good story includes the who, what, when, and WHERE… except when you have an anchor leave, I guess.

Not sure why stations when they have anchors leave, they don’t include why or where they are going to.

I think viewers get that Lansing and other small markets are places where people are going to get their start, but not necessarily their last job.

As Scott Jones says that's PR and the communication they are silent when it is one of there own leaving and don't want to say anything at all. Unless an anchor or reporter says goodbye and leaving the business I'm sure they give them cake since there is always cake as Scott Jones also says.

The tearful goodbye and on-air hugs are over the top.

She’s choosing to leave her “home” and “work family”.

Please. Enough. You’ve been in the market for a brief moment.

She’s not Sheri Jones.

Be professional, say your goodbye, thank the viewers, and move on after 15 seconds. Turn your key in, hand in your laptop. Enjoy the cake and memories. Look forward to the “new adventure” and move on.

Jam will replace you, the viewers will move on. It’s a small market operation. Let’s not overdramatize EVERY staff move.

Ramen is too high in sodium. I’m watching out for your heart health.

Don’t forget the tomato soup. That’s what made it a real investment by station management
