Spring Arbor splits Home.FM simulcast

Post by ChrisWL1980 » Mon Sep 21, 2020 6:53 pm

After a couple of years of simulcasting with 106.9 WSAE, 89.3 WJKN-FM has flipped back to a separate CCM format as "The Arbor." The new format is also being heard on all the former Home.FM translators (107.9 W300CO Dexter isn't mentioned in the post, but that includes them too), leaving 106.9 as the sole "Home.FM" outlet.

Which makes FM signal #3,742 (or so it seems) in the Lansing area carrying vanilla, bland Chris Tomlin praise and worship choruses.

Four years after moving from Jackson to Portage, I discovered and programed the Kalamazoo Home.fm translator into my car radio just last week. (It's a super weak signal that barely reaches Portage.) Guess I can delete that now...

I guess Home.FM is now a commercial station?

That means out-of-market, directly owned translators are now out of the question. This explains why the former Home.FM translators are now rebroadcasting (or soon will be rebroadcasting) 89.3.

Home.FM is a modern yet very soft AC. A little too sleepy for my liking.
