Here’s the new lineup beginning October 1.
10.1 and 29.1 NBC
10.2 and 29.2 ME TV
10.3 Circle
10.4 ION
10.5 Antenna TV
10.6 True Crime
10.7 Heroes and Icons
29.3 Start TV
29.4 Story TV
29.5 Movies TV
29.6 Decades
29.7 TCT

Many more choices for those in the Lansing area where both can be picked up.

How do they get to have 2 channels, 10 and 29? Other stations don't get to do that.

29 is a low-power translator to cover nulls in the channel 10 signal in areas of south Lansing. A lot of full-power TV stations use translators use translators to cover nulls or fringe areas.

Shortwave is the ORIGINAL satellite radio.

Dumb question perhaps:
Why would WILX have signal issues in south Lansing? Is it due to RF overload from all the FM stations in the area?

I realize the Onondaga tower location and the FCC's absurdly weak VHF power levels probably don't help the cause. It's good that Gray took the initiative to address signal gaps.

Would not surprise me if RF 29 is eventually repurposed to house ATSC 3.0 transmission.

Per a post ... from WSYM 47.2 on Oct 1st. ...
WSYM 47.2 will switch to GRIT, per the listing on that diginet's site: https://www.grittv.com/find-us/

"Lansing, MI WSYM (Launching 10/1/22) 47.2"

Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi

No it happened right on schedule. I was watching Perry Mason Friday night and exactly at midnight it switched to the GRIT channel and MeTV switched over to WILX 10.2 which was the previous H&I channel.

I see they dropped the Studio 10 show, that was at 4 pm. That does not happen much, a station dropping a local newscast.

When they lost all the lead on-air talent for Studio 10, the show was axed and they replaced it with short Studio 10 branded segments during other newscasts. At the time, they claimed it will return later this year. Here's that info:

In an apartment without access to an outdoor antenna, channel 29 is a lifesaver. Paper antenna on the wall is enough to get every in-market station. Before channel 29, it took a lot of finnicking to get 10, even using a big outdoor antenna. My apartment faced north which didn't help.

VHF Digital is simply horrible, no surprise there
