Texas News in Flint

Post by sinklair » Wed Jan 04, 2023 1:56 am

WEYI Digital Content Director, anchor, and man of the people Dave Bondy posts a picture on his Facebook page saying he received a photo from a person in Texas about egg prices that were $8.70 per dozen. Then he asks viewers what prices they are paying.

How lazy can you be? I thought an “investigative journalist” could spend two minutes walking down the refrigerated aisle to get the answer… or on to any local store apps.

By the way, we’re not paying anywhere near that amount. (Prices were more like $3.19 a dozen.). So no need to ramp up concern for viewers and generate more pro-Trump/MAGA/anti-Biden comments because you cherry picked prices that are nowhere near the town your supposed to be covering.

Out of the last 14 stories Dave posted on his Facebook page, only 1 was local. I guess Bondy is positioning himself for a promotion to the never watched Sinclair National Desk.

No wonder no one is watching Stella and Dave. There’s no local news being reported.

And Dave’s New Year’s resolution to post more positive stories was broke within three days. Great effort!

Well, as to the egg prices, depends what brand, organic or not, size, etc.

Similar to the "gas prices" that a lot of stations were doing for a while. One could easily go to <state>gasprices.com and find out for themselves.

I saw an article recently that they were $7 a dozen in Grand Rapids.

I saw that yesterday on WOOD. Been quite a while since I bought eggs, so I haven't paid any attention to it.
