I’m not sure why my gender is any of your business…

But just so I cover all of my bases, no I don’t want to go on a date with you.

Trying to reason with someone who doesn't know the difference between "Your" and "You're" is clearly a waste of time.

It’s a public business. I think people should be a little kinder to each other, but the Buzzboard is no different than the criticism I’ve seen leveled at teachers and administrators at my local school board meeting. If you’ve ever been in a newsroom, we get a ton of phone calls, emails, and social media posts that criticize our staff — including technical mistakes made by production, spelling errors made by producers, editing mistakes made by photographers, and yes even editorial decisions made by management. All of whom chose to be in our public-facing industry.
I’ve fielded those phone calls… I’ve never given the name of the person who missed the flash frame in a VO or misspelled a name on a lower third. I’d also challenge anyone to find me a post in this forum that calls out a production crew member by name for making a mistake.
And, we’re not discussing someone’s mistake in this thread.
In fact, none of the situations you laid out are even remotely relevant to the subject matter at hand.

Go back to my initial post, Herm. It celebrated a valued colleague. One we are going to miss because he made our newscasts better. A colleague that management should have — but refused to — fight to keep.

No one here — not me, not you — is calling out a production team member by name for making a mistake. Stop gaslighting. And stop being naive. You’re better than this. And you know exactly what 25-66’s potential is and was… and you know exactly the cause of our current issues.

I’m not gaslighting.
I’m not naïve.
I understand completely what the purpose of your post was. I just think it’s not a good look to discuss the career moves of an employee that works behind the scenes, a position that I believe should be afforded a certain level of anonymity.
