Dave Maurer does his last newscast on WSGW. Then, with typical class and professionalism, bids farewell.

Re: Dave Maurer - WSGW resigns
That was a great way to end a career - simple and to the point. I recall Dave being just as Charlie described him in the message, and wish Dave well in his future. 55 years is an admirable run in broadcasting.
(Shouldn't the topic name end with "...retires" instead of "resigns"? The latter implies something that isn't what occurred here.)

That’s exactly what occurred here. Dave is not retiring. He resigned.(Shouldn't the topic name end with "...retires" instead of "resigns"? The latter implies something that isn't what occurred here.)

Re: Dave Maurer - WSGW resigns
Is Dave now working somewhere else, then?
If not, and he's chosen to not do so, then "retires" is an appropriate word, regardless of in what manner he initiated it. I heard nothing in his sign-off that would pair up with what the word "resign" implies.
Technically correct, perhaps, but is that how Dave left it himself?

Re: Dave Maurer - WSGW resigns
Dave was Operations Manager for Alpha Media Saginaw, correct?
He resigned / retired right after WGER flipped from Hot AC to Grunge / Alternative?
Any correlation between the two?

Regardless, Dave is a class act. Best of luck in whatever he decides to do next.
