How lazy is WNEM?

Just check out the following article from its “digital team” about the passing of its former anchor Allison Payne.

https://www.wnem.com/news/wnem-mourns-t ... LnGcYaQZT0

They posted an AP article — that only had WGN quotes — and no condolences from WNEM management.

Ridiculous.

Posted on a Saturday and likely with not many, if any, former co-workers are still at WNEM.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Many people who are born, raised, went to school or worked in Radio and TV in Flint or the Flint Saginaw Bay City TV Market deny it, and in other careers also, delete all references to it in their Curriculum Vitae, online CVs like LinkedIn, Wikipedia articles, even some in 440 Satisfaction. This may not even be because of their personal feelings, which were likely more positive, but the reactions other people have to it. It's almost like it would be better if they weren't born at all, weren't educated there, or didn't work there early in their careers. I give a shout out to broadcasters John Landecker, JP McCarthy, Casey Kasem, and Bob and Michael DelGiorno and others for freely admitting they were there in Flint at some important point in their lives and careers, and they are not ashamed of it. I once worked in the Mail Room at Chevy there. The Superintendent told me "you have to start somewhere". Frankie Valli sang that "we can't change the places where we were born". Just tell them you're from Grand Blanc or Fenton or something if you have to.

This is WNEM TV 5 serving Bay City, Saginaw, Flint & Midland. "Live from the news center of Mid-Michigan, Allison Payne, Rick Lockridge, Mike Hoffman & Art Neil, this is News 5 At Six" (or At Eleven)!!

Matt, 5’s GM posted on Facebook. I’m pretty sure he could have given a simple quote for the article. Weekends aren’t an excuse for laziness.

When I was working as a janitor at the Midland, MI County Courthouse, I met Ryan Renz (former WNEM TV 5 reporter) & Ryan told me that I was doing a great job (around 1988 or early 1989)!!

I remember Allison Payne when she was an anchor for WGN News in the '90s.

I remember for a few years they referred to the 11 PM show as "News 5 Nightbeat." I have no memory of which years those were. Anyone remember?
