Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
The Sinclair Corporate Death Star requires us to run America This Week with Fox News flunkees Eric Bolling and national stories from James Rosen.
Both included claims that last week’s deadly attack on the US Capitol was instigated by violent left-wing activists Antifa, despite all evidence to the contrary.
https://www.mediamatters.org/january-6- ... ack-dozens
Instead of correcting the information, our dear leaders in Baltimore allowed this false and misleading to be broadcast nationally. Yet another example of why anything from 25-66’s parent company can’t be trusted.. that there is always bias in its national stories that are shoved down our viewers throats.

Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
This criticism is weak!!!
Mr. Bolling's show is a current events discussion show.
Why on earth should every single guest be limited to individuals whose views you happen to share?
Are you going to apply the same standards to the Meet The Press, Face the Nation, et al. ? Surely, those programs also have guests whose political viewpoints you might find objectionable.
Visit CNN.com lately? That network works overtime to try to induce mass hysteria and panic. Do you think their sensationalism is appropriate?

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Mark, I think his point is that they are running clear mis information and lies
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
MW: Sinclair’s news division produced this show. Therefore, yes they should only report factual information. There is a difference between an opinion and lies. And yes, Meet the Press, CNN, Face the Nation, et al should be held to the standard of reporting facts. And when a guest spreads misinformation it is the host’s responsibility to correct/challenge that information. Anything short of that is journalistic malpractice and said host should be fired.
Remember when Dan Rather was fired as anchor of the CBS Evening News for misreporting George W Bush’s guard service? Or Brian Williams who was fired from NBC Nightly News after lying about events during the US invasion of Iraq and following Hurricane Katrina?
There have to be consequences when journalists and hosts of news programs don’t do their jobs. This isn’t the first time Bolling has passed along false information to support his political narrative. He deserves to be fired. 25-66’s new Shipped In from Out of Town GM and the In Over Her Head News Director should drop the program that reflects poorly on our station.

Just another post above from the appropriately named Bidet.
Like someone said before, you should be happy that the Democrats are pushing for a minimum wage hike as it will increase your pay at Mickey D’s

A guest made a controversial comment. The host of the show - Mr. Bolling - immediately challenged the comment.
Similar exchanges occur all the time on the other shows & networks I mentioned.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
MW: You have to take this latest comment in context. This isn’t the first time that America This Weak with Eric Bolling has misreported facts.
Remember that time when the show included a guest that claimed Dr. Fauci was responsible for creating COVID-19?
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/16/busi ... virus.html
Or how Bolling and his guests promoted conspiracy theories about widespread voter fraud?
https://www.baltimoresun.com/opinion/co ... story.html
Or how his shows are filled with Trump sycophants with barely any attempt for balance or meaningful discussion about other political perspectives?
https://www.mediamatters.org/sinclair-b ... right-wing
It is just as wrong for the left to do it as the right. If the media is to have any credibility, we have to start demanding facts not propaganda.

"Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years. I hope that those people who didn't think it was that dangerous now understand, and that they stop."
James Murdoch
Fox News
As relevant for national news as it is to the media conglomerates running local stations and forcing their political agendas on our local journalists and viewers.

Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Maybe instead of complaining about Eric Bolling every week, you don’t watch. Your life will be so much better and you’ll have less to complain about. No one makes you watch him. We live in a free country. Turn the tv off.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Kermit: I work at 25-66. It’s hard not to watch when you’re forced to run this crap. My argument is that my Shipped In from Out of Town new Sinclair GM and the In Over Her Head News Director should do the right thing and not run this program in the first place. The show airs conspiracy theories, lies, half-truths, one-sided arguments, etc.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Things air on CNN that have been proven to be lies and they’re still on the air. Propaganda is everywhere. Unless the show is on when you’re at work and you’re forced to watch it you can choose not watch. You’re opinion isn’t the only one that matters and you’re not going to save the world from lies and conspiracy theories by complaining here. Obviously it’s not working.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Sinclair would fire the ND & GM for not airing Eric Bowling show and the must runs as well.
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.
Re: Placing blame for the US Capitol Attack
Kermit: The argument that if it’s OK to run on CNN then it must be the truth is laughable. Either it’s a fact or not. That’s what journalists deal with everyday. We are taught to not air our opinions or grievances in J School. CNN is as guilty as the other cable networks of delving into the shouting match of opinions, lies and half truths. Viewers deserve better.
Master: I’m OK with the GM and ND losing their jobs for not airing the show. They deserve to lose their jobs now for the journalistic malpractice of running this propaganda. I’d rather the station be in last place with some integrity than in last place with no integrity. Plus who knows maybe ratings would actually improve if we got rid of America This Weak and replaced it with— I don’t know — reruns of Gilligan’s Island.
