They're practically saving it for the national newscasts, which no doubt will be upstaged by the riots. In that case, it won't be covered until after the first commercial, when they get into "in other news".

What unique insight are you expecting from David Custer about the SpaceX rocket? Leave space developments to the national news and have local reporters report on local issues.
