Sink is stating "and having them tune to 25-66 whose focus is now squarely on Genesee County." Even though their city of license is SAGINAW!
I thought 25's COL was Clio? Which is in Genessee County
According to the broadcast history books, what is now WEYI signed on in 1953 as WKNX-TV, Channel 57, as a "television station licensed to Saginaw, Michigan. The station first operated from studios located on South Washington Avenue in downtown Saginaw." In 1972 when WKNX-TV was sold to Rust Kraft Broadcasting, the call letters were changed to WEYI and the new owners moved the studios, transmitter/tower to Willard Road on the Saginaw-Genesee County line in Vienna Township just north of Clio.

No doubt Willard Road in Clio was chosen as the station's studios and transmitter site, not only to enable a city grade signal over Saginaw and Flint, but also to put it in "neutral territory" by siting the complex between the two cities.
