Yeah, that was rough.

To be fair his actual live shot on News 12 at 6pm was better. Not great but, much closer to reality.

Its clear he hasn't had much on-air experience if any before this, at least based on his resume on the station website.
But you can get better with practice.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't anything but an "accidental trench collapse." "Accidental," being more than unnecessary to say.

Thoughts and prayers to the victim's family.

He was rushed. No, it was not a good shot, but it happens. I saw the same thing in the Grand Rapids market. Late night shooting, reporter just got to the scene, live shot unprepared. He will learn and get better and hopefully leave ABC 12 for a better job and not tank his career at ABC 12 like Matt and Angie.
