The most viral video now? MLive!

Post by lovinlife101 » Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:46 am

I just think it’s hilarious that those who don’t specialize in video have the most viral video right now and those who specialize in video don’t.

https://nbc25news.com/news/local/flint- ... t-reporter

Oh, and does the TV article mention the MLive reporter’s name? NOPE!!!

Can’t be bothered with the “who” in a news story?

Why didn’t they bother to name the reporter the story is about?

Why didn’t any station cover the Nick Lulli lawsuit?

HL101: bashing your former employer again. Very predictable.

I'm going to take a slightly different approach. Why didn't 12 and 5 do a story on this? It's absolutely ridiculous that an elected official get away with verbally attacking a member of the media. The other stations should also highlight this and ask the other council members if Councilmember Mays is going to face any discipline for his actions.

At least 25-66 was willing to stand up for the MLive reporter's rights and show how she withstood the barrage of insults hurled by Mays with class and dignity. Not sure I'd be able to bite my tongue like she did.
Oh, autoliar, you’re nothing if not predictable.

I’ve never worked in broadcasting nor will I ever work in broadcasting, but keep believing and saying what you want. It’s your right!

It’s interesting that you think a “verbal attack” is worthy of punishment. It’s clear you don’t support free speech, but why should anyone (elected officials included) be punished for what they believe and choose to express?

Unprofessional? SURE!

Illegal? Not even close.

HL101: learn how to read.

I didn't say Mays actions were illegal. I said his actions should face discipline.

He has the right to criticize, but should do it in a professional manner. He chose to verbally attack a member of the media instead. Not cool.

And I love how you sidestep the lack of reporting by the other stations.

And yes, you did (past tense) work in broadcasting... only to be fired three times. Keep the lying to yourself.
He has the right to criticize, therefore he should not be punished for expressing himself to another human. The other human has every right to criticize as well without fear of punishment or repercussions.

Whether someone is a member of the media or not, anyone has the freedom to criticize.

The “lack of reporting” is commendable. Someone talking to someone else isn’t newsworthy.

You keep claiming you know who I am, yet you provide no proof, evidence, or facts. You’re 100% autoliar.

Let me give you a quick lesson in First Amendment law: employers can place restrictions on speech. You can be fired or face discipline for verbally attacking your coworkers, for example. The Flint City Council can vote as it see fits if fellow council members believe Eric Mays stepped over the line... which he clearly did.

It would be equally as inappropriate for Zahra to verbally attack Mays. But she didn't.

It's time for everyone to use a little more courtesy and respect. Attacks on the media or members of the public by an elected official should not be tolerated. The other stations should support MLive in calling for Mays to in the very least apologize for his inappropriate rant.

And yes, HL101, we know each other from both times you worked (and then subsequently fired) from TV5.
You’re confusing a “verbal attack” with a disagreement. Grow up. People are allowed to have opinions and share them freely.

By the way, free speech says the government can’t punish you for what you say. Private employers are allowed to punish, but the government can’t. Guess who is Mays’ employer? THE GOVERNMENT!!!

I’m sure you’ve worked with many people. I’m not one of them. I have no idea who you are and you have no idea who I am. I’ve asked for any shred of proof, fact, or evidence, and you came up empty.

So every time someone on here disagrees with (or in your mind “verbally assaults/attacks”) someone, they should be disciplined?

No wonder you blindly support cops.

HL101: your ramblings make even less sense than usual. Guess you have missed the 20+ times Councilman Mays has been "escorted" from city council meetings for -- as you would describe it -- "exercising his free speech." Being a jerk sometimes means you're just a jerk... something not necessarily covered by the First Amendment.

Government (that includes the Flint City Council) absolutely has a right to control its meetings to support decorum. To say otherwise is idiotic on your part.

And members of the public (which includes MLive reporters) have a right to not be verbally attacked by elected city officials.

Since you claim you don't know me (a lie), I trust you also don't know my stance on law enforcement. The difference is we know your stance and still don't care since it is off topic... AGAIN.
Well looky here!

https://www.mlive.com/news/flint/2016/1 ... damag.html

Hauling off a council member in cuffs for speaking his mind is ILLEGAL!!!! THE DAMAGES PROVE IT!!!

You see, facts, reason, logic, evidence, they all sing in perfect harmony.

Free Speech protects people to be “jerks” as you call it. Dissent, critical thinking, objections, being skeptical, ALL PROTECTED, BABY!

Anything else you’d like me to explain?

And no, I have no clue who you are and have no reason nor desire to ever find out. I’m still waiting on just a shred of evidence to your inaccurate claims of knowing who I am.

HL101 -- you're my papa! Stop denying it. All I seek is your love. Why are you denying you're true feelings?
Just because you and your mom don’t know who your father is doesn’t mean everyone you accuse is your father.

Evidence, please and thank you.

Oh, and here’s another reason, Skippy!

https://www.abc12.com/content/news/Flin ... 97761.html

Adults don’t need a cop nearby simply because they disagree with (or in your words “verbally attack/assault”) each other.

Not lookin’ good for you in this argument!

Who's Skippy?

And, Dad, I'm confused by your latest post. Am I to believe your numerous previous posts that all police officers are bad... except Flint Police Chief Timothy Johnson?

Not lookin' good for you in this argument!!!
You said, “Johnson.”

Nice job, HL101. When you lose the argument, just turn to juvenile comments. You're a class act.
I’m just reporting what you said. You know, the facts.

Check your paternal comments for your juvenile fix.

I'd like proof that you're not my papa. Maybe meet me on Maury and we'll do a paternity test.

But once again you take another post completely off topic.
Next to the words “hypocritical” and “ignorant” in the dictionary are the above statements for illustration.

Please limit your ramblings to why you believe a female reporter deserves to be berated by a Flint City Councilman. I, for one, haven't heard one rational reason from you why that's appropriate conduct for an elected city official to behave that way toward a member of the news media simply doing her job.
The above is a logical fallacy that provides a wonderful teaching opportunity.

It’s the same ignorance that anti-gun people use. “Why should anyone own a bazooka?” they say.

It’s the same argument for those who want to steal money from people who have more than them. “Why should anyone have that much money?”

And the same for anti-free speech proponents. “That’s hate speech and doesn’t belong in this country!”

The fact is, other people’s freedom will likely offend you, and that’s a good thing.

Your neighbor’s gun ownership, larger bank account, and political opinions that don’t jibe (yes, jibe, not jive) with you, they’re all freedom, and it’s a beautiful thing.

Other people's freedoms of expression don't offend me... however rudeness and disrespect does. You can express yourself without being an a**hole. HL101, you should try it sometime.
Thanks for putting these directly over the plate for me to hit out of the park.

“Other people’s freedoms of expression don’t offend me...however rudeness and disrespect does.”

Um, could people’s “rudeness and disrespect” also be their freedom of expression? {Dramatic pause to allow time for your mind to be blown.}

“You can express yourself without being an autoliar.”

While that’s true, again, being that way IS FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION!!!

You have every right to say you want to restrict speech, but actually doing it is unconstitutional, morally wrong, and ignorant.
