I can confirm WGER has a lousy signal on the west side of Midland. Many times I've driven near Saginaw and Eastman and the station will fade out briefly. As you keep heading north-west it drops off like a cliff.

Thanks for the info, SpartanAM.

How does the signal in that area compare to Wheelz 104.5?

WILZ is better than WGER on Midland's west side.

West of Midland is also where you start to get a strong signal from WUPS as WGER fades out. Strictly from a listener perspective, it would be nice if WGER was just a simulcast of WUPS. Maybe Alpha would let 106.3 go cheap : P

I can only conclude that it is a combination of the limits of Earth Curvature TL COR Line Of Sight at Ground Clutter/Vegetation RL othat makes the signal drop off there. There are no H*** peaks, just a bunch of small hills near Coleman at 770 feet AMSL, quite a ways past Midland.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

The morning show is syndicated. It should have stayed local. No wonder they have no ratings.

WGER should go Classic Hits with the WIOG calls returned (WIOG = W106 back in the day). They could get calls of WPOO" for 102.5! :D

Who was that guy with the really deep voice on 'GER... I want to say John Derimus(?) He could put a spastic hyena to sleep and crack glass at the same time!

Despite damn near all of us wanting Mix 106.3 WGER to change formats, management at Alpha Media is apparently sticking with their low rated format. Alpha Media just posted a job opening for middays there. What are they seeing that we’re not?

More than the P12+ numbers that armchair PDs have access to.

Doremus was a syndicated program.

Oh please. I'm sure the station is getting its ass kicked in-demo, too.

Even if it were getting, say a 3.5 or 4.0 in Women 25-54, that's a far cry from what other female friendly stations in the market earn.

Forgive me, MWmetalhead, you must know much more on this topic than I do.

I apologize for the crass tone of my earlier post. I'm going to hold fast to my viewpoint, however.
