Byron Allen's attempted shakedown of McDonalds and GM was disgusting. They reason neither advertises on his obscure cable networks is because viewership is abysmally low. He tried playing the race card, which is a slap in the face to any African American who is a legitimate victim of racism.
Completely agree. Advertisers go where the ratings are. Byron continues to run his stations on the cheap, then complains when advertising revenue goes down. As they say, you’ve got to spend money to make money. Smart investment in WJRT’s on air product snd people could reverse the damage done by the failed ownership of Lily.
I thought there was potential when AMG bought ABC12. Hasn’t turned out that way at all. They’re just a notch above the folks that bought ABC12 from ABC (name escapes me) and ended up firing Bill Harris and Joel Feick…

SJL/Lilly was a disaster. 12 still hasn’t recovered from the loss of Harris (Bill and Chris), Feick, Toldo, Profitt, and many others.

The first round of SJL was a disaster. The second round of SJL was bad but not a complete disaster. The station still operated at a level similar to what you might have expected with Disney. There were issues, but product was still decent. With the introduction of the villain "Veto" morale suffered immensely. You can pinpoint the downfall of the station to Veto being named as GM. He sucked the air right out of the place.

If that’s the case, when are the tires going to start to be deflated at the rusty nickel where he went to?

Hodak went to 5 after leaving 12 and working for MAB. I think it was MAB. Veto became gm of CBS affiliate WVLT and CW affiliate WBNX. Knoxville Tenn.
