To the surprise of absolutely no one… A new study out finds that when Sinclair takes over local TV stations, it has a dramatic and negative impact on the amount of local news produced.

The elimination of news positions and the must-run corporate propaganda is largely responsible for the drop in local content being produced.
I disagree with the study’s conclusion that there is no editorial bias. While Sinclair’s ownership of 25-66 doesn’t impact the editorial neutrality of our coverage of city hall, school boards and car crashes, it very much has slanted coverage of national issues in the National Desk’s coverage — as well as some of its national broadcasts like it’s new morning and evening broadcasts, town halls and Full Measure.
Not sure why a Colorado school did this story since Sinclair doesn’t have any stations in Colorado, but at least someone is trying to prove what we’ve been saying all along… Sinclair sucks.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.
