It’s amazing how WEYI “owner”/David Smith’s only black friend Armstrong Williams gets so many “exclusives” with HUD Secretary Ben Carson.

https://nbc25news.com/news/coronavirus/ ... d-covid-19

What the article fails to mention is the business relationship between Williams snd Carson. Armstrong is Carson’s business manager and political adviser. But you wouldn’t know that there was this conflict by reading this “story.”

Which also explains the lack of any meaningful follow up questions. Like why would Carson, a world renowned neurosurgeon, credit Trump for saving his life when Trump has downplayed the virus for practically the entire year causing the US to lead the world in infections and deaths. That independent medical companies developed therapeutics and now vaccines is a credit to the same healthcare industry that Trump has repeatedly gone after for “gouging” consumers (taking a cue from Bernie Sanders’ playbook.). Now Trump, Carson and Armstrong Williams are trying to have it both ways and ignoring past presidential statements.
Makes you wonder why news organizations have allowed Deputy Bill “Hot Rod” Harris to get away with his clear conflict of interest with law enforcement:

“Bill has also distinguished himself in the area of law enforcement with a rare perspective of someone who has been on “both sides of the fence.” While anchoring and reporting for WJRT, Bill also served as a uniformed, reserve deputy with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department’s Paramedic Division. He is a recent graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and has trained with numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

He continues to work closely with numerous agencies and consulting firms, including the Michigan State Police, as a media consultant and instructor and, this past August, served as the Public Information Officer for Flint’s “Back To The Bricks” Law Enforcement Task Force.”

I did not write these words. He did on his bio.

He then spun his relationship with law enforcement another way when he was inducted into the meaningless “MAB Hall of Fame.” He changed his language since the political climate realizes that cops suck.

“Bill is also credited with helping build an ongoing and open dialogue to bridge gaps between local first responders and the media. Bill has worked with journalists and local, county, and state police agencies across Michigan to build trust and communication about the challenges facing journalists. His efforts have resulted in first responders working better alongside broadcasters to help fulfill their mandate of informing viewers in matters of public interest. For many years, he also donated his time as a sworn volunteer reserve deputy with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department Paramedic Division.”

“Local first responders”? Who says that? Where is Bill bridging the gap between cops sucking and the public being abused and not trusting them? Oh, just the cop-sucker that wants to make himself look less butt-kissing and more respectable in a political climate where people want to defund police departments and for good reason. No mention of his paid “media consulting” gig with law enforcement or that all of his best friends are cops, or that all of his sweeps stories positively promote cops.

His wife was a 911 dispatcher for decades. He knows the dirty deeds of cops and refuses to report them. He’s a biased, pro-cop promoter, not an objective journalist. He has never once produced an original report breaking a story of a cop’s misdeeds. Not one, in more than 50 years. Sad.

Now, make it a great day!
