Are you rhyming or try to talk in code?

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Music in the morning was the advantage for this station! I was rooting Hits as we haven’t had an alternative to KFR with good market coverage for 20 years. I would love to see a shift to a 90s to Now format. I caught Z93 a few weeks ago visiting family Up North and that playlist is awesome! Not the same 90/2000s songs on Pandora/Spotify. I heard songs I haven’t heard in years.

Agree 100%!! I much preferred knowing I'd hear music on my drive into work rather than the nationally produced TJ Show. 96.5 has a better (in my opinion) playlist than KFR. They tend to throw in a nice selection of 00s and early 10s throwback songs that I haven't heard in a long time. But if I'm going to have to listen to talk in the morning, I'll take the local guys over some national show.

Hits is still spinning around 10 songs per hour. It’s not all talk.

Is Hits 96.5 on life support? The afternoon host/brand manager Jordan Lass is no longer listed on the Hits 96.5 website. According to LinkedIn, he departed Midwest Communications back in October. The remaining on-air staff is syndicated or piped-in from another Midwest station. The spring ratings book for Hits 96.5 was disappointing (1.8 in persons 12+). When will Midwest reboot 96.5? Any guesses on a possible new format?

The station probably needs to be put out of its misery.

Perhaps one option may entail moving the Urban AC format from 95.5 to 96.5 and flip 1660/95.5 to sports radio.

Other options may include flipping 96.5 to classic country, mainstream AC or hard rock, either of which would be decent options. I'd love to see a Q106 clone on 96.5.

The station had a good thing going years ago with the pairing of classic hits and Bob & Tom. When they evolved the music to classic rock, it still worked well until someone thought WDRV-like imaging would be a good idea. I will never understand why that move was made. In all the formats tried since, the station never found its footing. I thought the country format (Y96.5) was ditched too soon. The station sounded good but was held back by the Bob & Tom contract.
