G.R. radio retirement

Post by Feature/writer » Thu Sep 15, 2022 2:47 pm

Congratulations to Pat Deja, who retired on Sept. 1. from the WFUR-AM/FM air staff after 36 years of service. For many years he hosted a popular Sunday program called "Hymns By Request."

I wish him well! He's the one personality on that station who did more than read liner cards and whose name I actually remember!

I met Pat one time several years ago. To work 36 years for one radio station is truly amazing. Congratulations Pat and enjoy your retirement.

I remember requesting a couple songs myself over a several month period, and both times he played them :) Great guy, great radio voice, and with a last name that's pronounced "Deejay" I mean, it's like you're automatically pre-destined for radio greatness!
