Ellen did mention on twitter that it was sleek and she liked the design. It looks nice, now WZZM should step up their game and update their weather center.
WZZM updated theirs not too long ago.

WOOD TV has broke in several times over the past 5 years noting a storm was rotating… on at least 3 occasions the National Weather Service issued a warning a few minutes later.
Didn't Gary England do that in Oklahoma years back? Used to piss off the NWS with his warning calls

NEWS 9 in OKC still does so today. Very smart on their part. They've shown funnels and tornadoes on camera from their chopper live on a few occasions where the NWS failed to issue or had not yet issued a warning.

Compare that to the lapdogs in West Michigan who acted as apologists for the NWS's complete failure to issue a warning for the Wyoming / Kentwood tornado. Once the debris ball was evident on radar, a warning should've been immediately issued.

If WZZM does any updating to their Weather "Center"..... it needs to start with burning the Weather Deck Down..... Then stop showing the weather maps all the way down to the Meteorologist's ankles.... After that, removing George Lessens would help too.... George is and always will be the 3rd wheel after Craig James Woods and Bill Steffens....

As was EXPLAINED at the time....by the time the radar had made its complete scan the tornado was gone. It takes 5 to 6 minutes for a complete scan to happen at the various angle settings of the antenna. No use warning for something that is no longer there.
I also assume you are talking about the July 2014 incident.

A warning should've been issued immediately upon the first scan. The fact a delay in action that lasted 5+ minutes on something of such consequence is viewed as acceptable baffles me. Did the NWS have a crystal ball indicating the tornado would lift? Thank God it did lift when it did.

I'll also note that radar showed some tightening of rotation on that cell when it was in far SW Kent County, prior to reaching 131. At THAT time, a severe tstorm warning with "tornado possible" text should have been issued.

It was Sunday evening, the focus was on the heavy rain threat, and NWS probably didn't have a ton of people working that shift. The ball was dropped.

Tornado was on the ground for about four or five miles. That is not shabby by Michigan standards.
