WOOD Radio is new #1 station in just released Nielsens
For the three months ended mid-November (I don't have the exact terminal date at my disposal) - there is a bit of a surprise!
WOOD AM/FM leapfrogged both B93 and WCSG to take #1 honors!
The other big news: 97 WLAV. Their numbers have NOSEDIVED since the lineup changes. Worst book of the post-John Dickey era by far. One of the three worst I can ever remember for the station.
Thunder 107.3 remains an absolute disaster, and the nosedive at Magic 104.9 that began last survey grew worse this survey.
The stations shown in the Nielsen report card represent about 68 percent of all listening. 104.1 WVGR (not listed) probably is good for about a 4 share. That means about 28 percent of all listening is to satellite radio, digital sources, or 94.5 The Q (another non-listed station).
For Cumulus' sake, I hope 94.5 The Q is performing well.

The incredible shrinking WNWZ 1410 + W285FO 104.9 Translator. What happened? Have the full power FMs added a lot more Urban AC?
And is it really the format and not the facility TL downgrade/STA affecting WLAV's ratings?

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

I think it is RF related.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

WLAV's signal strength over most of the market's most populous zip codes was strengthened last summer.
The ratings plunge coincides with the terrible decision to replace the talented Steve Aldrich with barf voiced Jackie Green in middays and to run syndicated programming at night.
LAV's management has been quickly deleting any criticism regarding the DJ changes from the station's Facebook page.
WOOD Radio is likely drawing some listening away from LAV, too. WOOD has always been strong in 35+ male demos.
To see WFGR tied with LAV in 12+ is a rarity!
Addendum - I failed to mention in my OP that Joy 99.3 is an unlisted station. Ditto WFUR AM/FM.

Was not WOOD the first FM station in the country to beat an AM station into the #1 slot in a book in the early 70's? Do they still retain their grandfathered 'Superpower' status for 100kW+ near the border-limited 50kW ERP?
Re: WOOD Radio is new #1 station in just released Nielsens
Being both an election season with Pro Trump commentary and sports and is one reason for an uptick in WOOD, I Imagine The 94.5 is probably at upper 1's, lower 2's, mid 2's tops.

The original WOOD-FM is now WSRW and is still 265kW

When they got booted off WOOD-TV's tower many years ago (I want to say at least 15 years ago), Star 105.7's antenna height dropped by about 250 feet. These days, they are co-located on the 104.1 WVGR tower. This made a significant dent in reliable signal range.
The signal strength in greater Lansing in particular degraded noticeably following the downgrade. WOOD-FM used to come in almost as well as a "local." That is no longer the case; the signal pretty much sucks in most of Ingham County now. The days of picking up the station to the Ingham / Livingston line with barely a hint of fuzz are gone.

Also looks like Cumulus as a whole was beat by a cluster with only one station, Cornerstone U (WCSG):
That also means WOOD Radio & B93 also beat this cluster, individually.

Bear in mind the Cumulus results exclude 94.5 The Q.
I still think Nielsen somehow is f*cking up ratings credit between 107.3 & 94.5. It's counterintuitive to me that a station that plays a ton of niche music (94.5) and has only 1,600 Facebook likes among a social media savvy target audience has far superior ratings to a station that plays mass appeal music in a market that craves country (107.3).

Whatever is happening with WTNR & WKLQ, these are the numbers that clients are seeing, so if there is an issue why hasn't Cumulus straightened it out yet? It's been almost a year since the flips at this point.
I've worked with PDs, OMs, & GMs that would've been on a plane to New York to get this right. But I'm guessing that isn't really something to expect from a cluster with such a flaccid product at this point.
