70's classic rock has been scaled back sharply, and a lot of mainstream 90's rock songs have been added. 80's butt rock continues to be a substantial part of the playlist.

Not sure this will do a damn thing to help 101.3's fortunes given the fact the extremely unpopular Rover's Morning Glory remains in morning drive.

Given WGRD's recently developed aversion toward most rock music produced over the last 15 years (not to mention the edgy nu metal anthems that were the mainstay of KLQ during the late 90's & early 00's), seems to me THAT would be the niche to fill, not this one.

Time to blow up this pathetic underachieving mess of a station. Flip the damn thing to Variety Hits, 80's pop hits, or Urban.

Can't remember the last time I had this station on my presets or WGRD for that matter, I listen to LAV once in a while.

With the exception of when the station flipped from WCUZ Country to WBFX when Bob and Tom were on the top of their game, this station slowly but surely became background. All Marketing stopped, the good "live" talent was gone (Aris, Alison, Matt, Joe etc) it has just been a declining wasteland - for at least 10 years. Classic Corporate Radio Flanker that is meaningless. They can change the music, morning show or their own underware. This station will NEVER get above a 3 share (unless it's a fluke) until it is sold or actually given two shits about by the ownership. This station at it's peak in the early 2000's was almost an 8 share 12+, if you can believe that.

An 8 share?!?! Not in the early 2000's. They were in that ballpark as country (WCUZ-FM) in the very early 90's.

WBFX's best ever book was in the low 4's in ages 12+. That occurred within the first few years of the classic rock format.

When the station first changed names from The Fox to the Brew, some effort was put into on-air talent but within a year due to lackluster ratings, budget cutbacks were imposed. It's been a half-assed station ever since.

When Citadel flipped 107.3 MHz from WKLQ to WBBL, 101.3 failed to capitalize. WBFX as 101.3 The Fox made very minor changes to its playlist and captured almost none of the disaffected WKLQ listeners. Maybe 9 or 12 months later, they moved to a poorly structured playlist of classic rock and bland Active Rock recurrents, which didn't last long (that playlist represented the final hurrah of the station as 101.3 The Fox).
