Something different on WXSP (15.2)...

Post by Trophyhead » Sun May 31, 2015 2:17 am

The weather radar loop from the NWS has been replaced by COZI-TV. Robert Stack is putting the heat on someone in "The Name of The Game" as this is posted.

I'm receiving this OTA, hard to say where the cable or satellite companies may patch this in.

Wasn't COZI already available on one of the WOTV subchannels, or am I mistaken?

It's been a while since I shuffled the deck to see what OTA signals are available. There used to be four channels on WXSP, I thought it was reduced to two some time ago.

COZI was first offered only to NBC Owned & Operated stations and had not been available until now (assuming the announcement of this is permanent.)

They must be expanding their offerings of the network outside O & O to go up against MeTV, AntennaTV, Decades, and similar retro networks which are populating rather fast.

You were mistaken. WOTV had the ill-fated Cool TV on 41.2 a few years ago.

What OTA channel if any has a constant weather loop anymore?

WZZM still has the "On-Target Weather Network" on 13.2, which cycles pre-taped forecasts with live radar. I think they also have third-party weather information if I'm not mistaken.

8.3 and 41.2 run NWS audio and WOOD TV radar, with the occasional live weather forecast from a channel 8 newscast. As soon as the weather is done, the radar and audio return.
