Another new LPFM on the air

Post by originalzzmfmjock » Sun Mar 08, 2015 3:50 pm

Looks like 103.7 LPFM has hit the air in Grand Rapids. Heard it earlier today. Spanish music format. Not too many open frequencies left in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan area.

Not surprisingly, the coverage of 103.7 is highly localized. FM 93.3 covers a much broader area.

Best reception of 103.7 will be near & north of 28th St and near & west of the East Beltline.

Here is the FCC predicted 60 dBu contour map:

MEMO TO 89-EX: FIX YOUR SHITTY SOUNDING AUDIO!! WE CAN HARDLY HEAR THE FRIGGIN' STATION! Thanks in advance.

You think this LPFM"s coverage area is restricted now, just wait til the CP for Hubbardston Michigan (class A on 103.7) comes on the air.

Some fairly close spacing there.

A radio station in Hubbardston?

That'll capture the ever-elusive Pewamo-Westphalia-Fowler-Middleton-Maple Rapids-Carson City-Matherton market demographic for sure.

And extra ears in Ionia, Portland and St. Johns? HOUSE MONEYYYYYY!!!!!!!
