I'm Surprised That Nexstar Never Put Morning News On WXSP
I'm Surprised That Nexstar Never Put Morning News On WXSP
At least from 7AM to 9AM has Wood TV management never think they could compete with Fox17 from 7AM to 9AM? I know they only did extend the news from time to time for a major snow event a decade ago on WOTV but that was about it with doing news from 7AM to 9AM.

Good question.
My theory is NBC's Today show on WOOD earns strong ratings, and Nexstar doesn't want to compromise those ratings by "competing against itself."
It is also possible the 10PM newscast on WXSP doesn't draw strong ratings or revenue. I have no idea how the various 10PM newscasts in the market compare ratings wise at the moment.
