Emily Schuitema Leaving WOOD TV Weather Team
Twitter tells us so.
Always capable and professional in her work, that genuine presence appears to be taking her someplace else.
Her Channel 8 weekend morning work is done, an acknowledgment of her next step is reportedly due at the end of the week.
Congratulations!

So that's why they had a job posting for the weekends. Not to replace Bill but to replace Emily.

I don't know her non-compete status, but based on comments from her WOOD TV co-workers, it appears she is staying around town. Also she's certainly young enough to still enjoy the business, so I'll predict she is going over to 17 where they just said goodbye to Anthony Domol and where the ND who hired her at 8 currently works.

I agree with your prediction.
That said, she's still a bit "green" (her on-air skills will probably improve quite a bit with time). I thought Anthony did a great job.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I believe it was on Saturday or Sunday morning at the close of the newscast that she said that she has been working part-time at an environmental engineering company and will now be working full time at the environmental engineering company.
Take care, Bernie.

The number of younger TV talent that have chosen to exit lately is very eye-opening. There’s no more “carrot at the end of the stick” and they all seem to be coming to that conclusion. It’s no longer appealing to work odd hours for years and years just so you’re able to…work odd hours once you’ve reached the so-called prime of your career. (same goes for radio) Overall, it’s simply no longer glamorous or enjoyable to be in TV or Radio. It’s not worth it in any aspect for most and I don’t blame the many who’ve come to that conclusion. More and more talent are willing to put up with less and less bullshit and I fucking love it.

Agree, we have all heard about the "Great Resignation" from Covid and this industry (new or old workers) seems to have seen the light like no other industry. If she is indeed getting out (which would make my prediction above, wrong) good for her and good for anyone who realizes this sooner than later. The first year you find out you get ALL of the holidays off in a new industry is almost surreal.Barry Sanders wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 1:17 pmThe number of younger TV talent that have chosen to exit lately is very eye-opening. All the best to Emily if she is getting out of the business.
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.

Watching Emily's broadcast right now. She seems to have abandoned the short, choppy sentences that are Ellen Baca's trademark. Emily's speech pattern sounds much more natural now. Good Luck Emily!!

It has been 3 weeks now. Did she end up at 17?
