I'm not so sure she has any say in the matter. The Board of Trustees have constitutional authority to run the University.

The Michigan constitution says
The regents of the University of Michigan and their successors in office shall constitute a body corporate known as the Regents of the University of Michigan; the trustees of Michigan State University and their successors in office shall constitute a body corporate known as the Board of Trustees of Michigan State University; the governors of Wayne State University and their successors in office shall constitute a body corporate known as the Board of Governors of Wayne State University. Each board shall have general supervision of its institution and the control and direction of all expenditures from the institution's funds.
I'm no legal expert, just copying and pasting. I suppose there are various legal decisions that define what that means.

Dana doesn't care if she should or should not have say in a matter - she is ideologically driven. She should be intervening in the illegal GEO strike here in Ann Arbor, but it has been crickets from her office.

I think if Nessel were to intervene, Matt, it might not go the way you are hoping. I prefer she not intervene.

You're probably right, but it actually was her job to stop an illegal strike.
