She was a throwaway candidate with no deep roots to the party. Nobody else wants to claim responsibility...

As a democrat, I believe redistricting and proposition 3 created the win. We got a H*** bump with the legalization of marijuana as well. Voter referendum is an excellent tool for Democrats because they can put popular issues on the ballot that the Republicans simply won't create legislation for...

I never heard of Dixon before her candidacy. I'm not sure how an unknown and unexperienced person would ever be nominated. Really bit the GOP in the ass.
