Whitmer a Hypocrite - Says Legislature is "unconstitutional"

She thinks she can do it no problem...but if the legislature does then it's unconstitutional. This swamp creature is insane.

Re: Whitmer a Hypocrite - Veto's Legislature as "unconstitutional"

Her view is the constitution grants the Executive Branch of state government certain powers that cannot be abridged by the legislature.

Whether she is correct in that view insofar as public health mandates or restrictions are concerned is a matter for the courts to decide.

I am curious as to why she didn't just line item veto the language she found objectionable.

Of course she had no issue taking away from the legislature with her re-issued EO's beyond 28 days that the Supreme Court found to be unconstitutional, not merely hypothetically unconstitutional in this case.

I think she used line-item Veto

Tim Skubick on Fox 2 this morning said she did not.

He's correct.

It appears she said they were unconstitutional and signed off on them anyway.

I'm a little less critical now that she did sign off on them.

Oh snap, the EO's are back!

This time they seem more like justice tampering.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive directive Wednesday telling state agencies to not cooperate with any other state or authority attempting to prosecute anyone...

In audiopile’s book, an executive order is leadership when it’s a Republican in office like Trump. When it’s a Democrat, he or she is violating the constitution and a tyrant. Cool.

Whitmer has long history of at least 181 illegal and unconstitutional EO's.

At least with Covid, Trump EO's were very restrained.

MCRF keeps voting for anyone with a 6-colored flag.

If she tries to usurp the legislature's authority, it is fine. If she thinks that the legislature is trying to usurp her authority, she screams.

Whitmer is an asshole, plain and simple:

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/ ... 581951001/

Her veto is a big "screw you!" to seniors, parents with school aged children in the household, and EITC recipients.

The saddest part is - her GOP opponent might be a loon who will make her path to reelection fairly easy.
